California Minimum wage Moves up to $15.50 per hour
Here we are; it is almost 2023!
California Minimum wage as of January 1, 2023, will be $15.50 per hour.
Don’t forget about those Exempt classified staff, their wage base must be twice the minimum wage: $64,480.00/yr, $5,373.34/mo. In order for a position to be properly classified as exempt, the role must also satisfy the California Exempt duties test. See your applicable Wage Order.
Don’t forget to check for any local minimum wage rates. There are over 40 local minimum wage rates in California.
