Let’s Keep Your HR Practices Well Done

Stay in compliance this summer

Here are some important tips to stay in compliance this summer!

Wage and Hour

Given the current enforcement climate, ongoing PAGA claims, and the continued complexity of California wage and hour laws, it is important for employers to regularly assess their practices and identify any unintentional missteps that need to be addressed.

Our team conducts payroll evaluations, policy reviews, and wage-and-hour training.

Important Summer Dates

7/3 – People Rock HR will be closed in observance of Independence Day.

7/31 – For most 401k plans you should receive a signature ready Form 5500 from your TPA for you to sign and submit on or before July 31st (or the seventh month after your plan year ends).

No filing date has been announced for EEO-1 reports.

Spark Smart

Enjoy the sparks this 4th of July, but fireworks aren’t the only fire risk this season. Wildfire smoke can pose serious health risks, and it is important that you ensure that your employees are informed and protected when air quality becomes unsafe.

When air quality reaches unhealthy levels (AQI 151+), employers are required to monitor conditions, communicate risks, and take steps to protect employees, including adjusting work practices or providing protective equipment.
